The Cork Shop Team

Phoebe

Phoebe, the owner and founder of The Cork Shop is surely multi-talented and her hard work is driven by her passion for all things cork. While living overseas and travelling through Portugal, she fell in love with the amazing concept of using the natural, eco-friendly, sustainable raw material of cork.

For several years, Phoebe lived in Kota Kinabalu, East Malaysia and only returned to Australia early 2020. She loved the simple lifestyle and had the joy of teaching English and assisting in establishing new schools for the education of the young local people. A wonderful life experience including jungle trekking and also scuba diving with a volunteer group researching turtles.

Phoebe felt that Byron Bay would be the ideal area to establish the first cork shop in Australia . On July 1st, 2020, The Cork Shop opened and has gone from strength to strength. The many markets and pop up shops from Yamba to Redcliffe has kept Phoebe and her team busy as they spread the word about the beauty, durability and special properties of cork.
